Founder and Executive Board Director

Bill founded Constellation to pursue his passion for helping others turn their lives around and find joy through a life in recovery. Having experienced several treatment programs both personally as well as a family member, Bill felt there was big opportunity to “raise the bar” on the standard of care in the addiction treatment industry. In 2010, Bill decided to leave a successful career as a Wall Street financial analyst to start Alta Mira Recovery Programs.  Today, Alta Mira is nationally recognized for its quality of care, state of the art psychological testing and comprehensive approach to treating addiction and dual diagnosis disorders. After three years of running Alta Mira, Bill created Constellation in early 2013 to partner with entrepreneurs that share his vision and passion for finding a “better way” to treat addiction and co-occurring disorders.   Prior to Constellation, Bill worked for eight years as a Wall Street research analyst focusing on consumer Internet/media businesses. Most recently, Bill was a partner and senior analyst at ThinkEquity, where he re-launched their Internet and media franchise. Prior to ThinkEquity, Bill was a director and senior Research Analyst at JMP Securities and a senior associate at Salomon Smith Barney.  Before working as a research analyst, Bill worked for a venture capital firm and a Chicago-based healthcare startup, Platinum Healthcare. Bill holds a BA from Colgate University and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.

Executive Vice President, Business Development

Rick Hubbard brings more than two decades of experience in leadership and recovery advocacy to his new role as Executive Vice President of Business Development. Rick’s work in behavioral health began in 2002. Since 2012, Rick has managed the professional relations team at a nationally recognized treatment organization. Rick currently serves as a board member for the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP), C4 Recovery Solutions, and the Dallas-Fort Worth Behavioral Health Symposium. Rick has also received training as an interventionist in several models of structured family intervention. He is an active member of both the Texas Association of Addiction Professionals and the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors, where he continues to foster connections with professionals who share his passion for creating a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with addiction and mental health disorders.

Executive Director

Dr. Maryann Rosenthal has specialized in the treatment of addiction and mental health for more than 35 years. Maryann was a founder and Executive Director at Recovery Ways. She has a unique background and career working in both the business and clinical sectors of behavioral health care.

Appointed by the Governor of California, Maryann served on the Developmental Disabilities Board. She is a member of the Domestic Violence Council and a founding member of the Elder Abuse Prevention Project in San Diego. She served on the advisory board for Life Medical Technologies, a women owned business dedicated to educating and provide life-enhancing, innovative medical products to the public.

As Executive Director, Maryann introduced innovative recovery programs and outcome measurements that helped Recovery Ways expand access to quality, evidence-based care.

Dr. Maryann is an internationally known speaker and author of Be A Parent, Not A Pushover. A champion of women’s causes, Dr. Maryann has consulted throughout America, Australia, Europe, and Asia on substance abuse, mental health issues, family dynamics and life achievement issues. She has appeared as a regular on national television and has been published in numerous magazines and has collaborated on many books and publications.

Maryann believes that a satisfying and successful life requires a strong foundation of self, developed through resilience, meaning and purpose. This requires a blended treatment approach that is designed to meet the needs of the individual.

Executive Director, Alta Mira Recovery Programs

Karen Spedowfski, Ph.D., Alta Mira’s Executive Director, is a licensed clinical psychologist. Dr. Spedowfski’s career has been exclusively focused on the treatment of Substance Use and Co-Occurring Disorders and she has held multiple leadership positions within the programs she has worked.

Dr. Spedowfski brings a compassionate, evidence-based and practical approach to assisting clients and their families who are recovering from addictions and other mental health issues. Her work approaches the individual as a whole person with physical/biological, psychological, spiritual and social/cultural needs, issues and challenges that occur within various systems in the person’s life. As such, she believes that involving family members in the treatment process whenever possible is crucial to client success as well as the health and wellbeing of those around them.

Prior to coming to Alta Mira, Dr. Spedowfski worked in multiple outpatient treatment settings including several Kaiser Permanente Chemical Dependency Services/Recovery Programs and at the Northern Illinois University Counseling and Student Development Center where her experience included the assessment and treatment of those with eating disorders as well as leading campus-wide efforts to reduce the incidence of sexual assault among student residents. Her dissertation focused on exploring disordered eating symptoms in both men and women recovering from Substance Use Disorders to better understand how both issues can be effectively and simultaneously addressed within an outpatient setting.

Dr. Spedowfski served in various leadership roles throughout her 20-year career at Kaiser Permanente, including her most recent as the Program Director of the Chemical Dependency Recovery Program in Vallejo, California from January 2010 through August 2018. From 2012-2015 she simultaneously served a three-year period as Chair of the Chemical Dependency Program Directors for the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region.

Dr. Spedowfski is passionately dedicated to helping those in recovery from Substance Use Disorders and other mental health issues. She believes in the fundamental resilience of individuals and families who dedicate themselves to the learning and change process of recovery that results in vastly improved lives and overall wellness. She strives to balance the application of proven therapeutic techniques and practices with an individually-tailored approach to best ensure that the unique needs of each individual and family are met.

Dr. Spedowfski holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the California State University – East Bay (formerly Hayward) and received both her masters and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology in Alameda, CA.

National Executive Director, BrightQuest Treatment Centers

Ashley is a behavioral healthcare executive who specializes in strategic and clinical operational leadership, team development, and community building.

Ashley brings a wealth of experience in the care and treatment of adults with severe mental illness and co-occurring disorders. As a licensed Marital and Family Therapist, she has gained extensive competence with diverse populations, including adolescents, homeless teens, college students, and adults. Ashley has provided care to individuals, couples, families, and groups within various settings, such as the juvenile justice system, outpatient, and residential treatment environments.

During her tenure at BrightQuest Treatment Center in San Diego, Ashley played a key role in the start-up and management of multiple residential treatment homes, offering both short- and long-term care for patients with severe mental illness and co-occurring disorders. As the Director of Residential Services, she oversaw facility administration, staff supervision, patient care coordination, and clinical services.

After relocating to Chicago, Illinois, Ashley facilitated the launch of the intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs for Foundations Recovery Network as the Director of Outpatient Services. She later moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where she successfully opened BrightQuest Nashville as its Executive Director. In 2021, Ashley advanced to the role of National Executive Director for BrightQuest, overseeing operations at both the Nashville, TN, and San Diego, CA locations.

Ashley is deeply passionate about applying her clinical, leadership, and management expertise to create a supportive and healing environment for individuals and families. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Business Administration and Sociology, and a master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy, both from the University of San Diego. Ashley is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and Tennessee and is an AAMFT Approved Supervisor.

Executive Clinical Director, Bridges to Recovery

Michaela is a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) with extensive experience in both leadership and direct clinical work. Michaela has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including residential, intensive outpatient, and private practice. As a leader, her focus has been program development and implementation, outcomes, utilization review, strategic networking and relationship building, and establishing a high-performance culture. As a clinician, Michaela has experience working with individuals suffering from mood, adjustment, personality, and psychotic disorders. She is well-versed in working with individuals struggling with relationships, performance, trauma, and identity issues. Her approach to therapy is individualized and integrative, strength-based and non-pathologizing. She utilizes various theories and methodologies, depending on the specific needs of the patient. She provides individuals with a safe, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive space where they can identify and overcome the obstacles in their life.

Michaela is a graduate of Pepperdine University. Michaela is passionate about animal rights and has several rescue cats.

Senior Strategic Advisor

Dr. Majors is a behavioral healthcare professional with over 30 years experience ranging from clinical practice to senior executive administration at nationally recognized treatment facilities such as the Betty Ford Center and Cirque Lodge. During her last eleven years at Constellation Behavioral Health, Dr. Majors has served as Executive Director of Alta Mira Recovery Programs, Chief Development Officer, and Senior Strategic Advisor.  Having a robust history of developing successful start-up businesses and serving as a change agent in existing businesses, Dr. Majors strives for continuous improvements as well as long-term strategic change. As Senior Strategic Advisor, she is responsible for specific corporate initiatives which contribute to strategic development.

Dr. Majors completed her Ph.D. in Addiction Studies and post-graduate training in Family Systems Theory.  Additionally, she has two Masters’ degrees. She is a Clinical Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, a Master Addiction Counselor (National) and licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (Texas), and holds a Lifetime Teacher’s Certificate from the state of Texas.  She has obtained certification from the Small Business International Trade Association in Small Business International Management.

Chief Human Resources Officer

Brianna Romo is an educated and experienced leader with certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a 17-year background administering HR programs and delivering measurable results aligned with organizational goals and business objectives. With a demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive work environment, Brianna plans, manages, and executes complex support operations. She is consistently recognized for her diverse, collaborative approach and outstanding communication and relationship-building skills. Able to lead and communicate effectively at all organizational levels, she champions change management plans to deliver quality human resources services. Brianna has extensive senior-level HR experience encompassing advisory services, regulatory compliance, strategic workforce planning, performance management, incentive recognition, talent acquisition, recruiting and staffing to build infrastructure and sustain growth, benefits administration, employee and labor relations, leadership development, and cross-functional employee training.

Vice President of Revenue Cycle

Aimee grew up in a helping household where the groundwork for her values and pursuits were first formed. Her interest in behavioral health was first piqued during childhood/adolescence when tagging along to her father’s classes while he obtained a psychology degree.

Aimee began her career working on an outpatient basis in Chicago with underserved populations transitioning from prison to the job force. Aimee moved back to her home state of Kentucky to work at an inpatient facility that served clients from adolescent to the geriatric population.  While there Aimee gained experience as Direct Client Care Staff, Admissions, Business Office, and Utilization Review. After 5 years in inpatient treatment, Aimee began working at Foundations Recovery Network where she focused on Admissions and Utilization Review.

Aimee transitioned to Constellation Behavioral Health several years ago where she was part of the team that implemented Revenue Cycle in-house.  Since then, Aimee has continued to utilize her skills to focus on insurance and the business side of behavioral health treatment while still having her original passion for client care.

Senior Talent Acquisition Manager

Gina has been working in talent acquisition for the past 7 years and has extensive experience in the healthcare space. She has served as a recruitment professional for major healthcare companies such as Ascension, HCA, and Philips. She enjoys serving as a career matchmaker for candidates, as well as providing her company with compassionate staff to provide best-in-class patient care.

Recently, she was the talent acquisition leader for Vertava Health, a growing company that provides addiction and mental health services. At Vertava, Gina was responsible for overseeing the residential, outpatient and corporate business lines, as well as staffing the virtual care platform from the ground. She is excited to bring her passion for the mental health field to Constellation!

Gina has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and lives in Nashville with her husband, daughter, and 2 dogs.

Senior Talent Acquisition Partner

Tracy has been working in talent acquisition for the past 4 years and has extensive experience in the corporate & healthcare field. He has served as a recruitment professional for healthcare companies such as Acadia Healthcare & DCI Donor Services. Tracy also spent several years recruiting in a collegiate coaching role for his alma mater basketball program.

Recently, he was the Talent Acquisition Partner for Acadia Healthcare, a company that provides psychiatric and chemical dependency services to its patients, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, specialty treatment facilities, residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics and therapeutic school-based programs. At Acadia, Tracy was responsible for overseeing the inpatient psychiatric nursing recruitment for multiple facilities within the Acadia Healthcare Systems. He is excited to continue finding talented individuals to support the mission at Constellation and the behavioral health field!

Tracy has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology & Master’s degree in Leadership, Higher Education Administration from Mid-America Christian University. Tracy lives in Nashville, TN, with his wife, daughter, and 2 sons.

HR Generalist

Lesley has 4 years experience working in Talent Acquisition and closely with Human Resource departments. She gained experience in both recruiting and human resources during her time as a Lead Recruiter with Planet Fitness, a gym chain geared towards health and wellness which developed her passion for the healthcare industry and Human Resources.

She graduated from Medaille University and received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Throughout college, she ensured that the courses she studied heavily focused on HR and management. She believes that HR undergoes a constant wave of change and proposes new challenges that allow her to adhere to ethical practices that drive solutions to the many challenges presented. She strives daily to work beyond the expectation of her colleagues and leadership as an unconditional commitment to improving the work lives of the employees working for CBH and its affiliates. Through Talent Acquisition, she is able to meet the next generation of employees who serve people and with HR, facilitating positive change to transform the idea of work into a life purpose.

Director of IT Services

Ryan has worked in a variety of different roles during the 14 years he has been an employee at Constellation Behavioral Health. He began as a Milieu Support Staff at BrightQuest, then moved up to become the schedule Scheduler and then the IT Technician. Since joining the corporate team, Ryan has had several roles including Digital Project Manager/PPC Specialist, IT Manager/Digital Project Specialist, and now as Director of IT Services.  

Ryan is responsible for all IT services at Constellation including purchasing, asset management, training, security, networking, enterprise systems, and user support. Ryan manages several contractors supporting all the facilities and corporate IT needs. 

In addition, Ryan is responsible for the data warehouse, analytics, reporting, and CBH Insights. Ryan also manages all website development working with an external vendor. 

For 10 years, Ryan has managed his own IT consulting company providing services to law offices, construction, travel, and individuals with their IT needs.
